Here is a job I have been studying for my whole life: This autumn I am teaching History of Musical Theatre at the Danish National School of Performing Arts, Fredericia.
We create dramatic writing exercises for each decade. We will write, play and perform our way through the history of musical theatre.
Here is a selection of the literature I am deeply immersed in. That, and then countless English, American, on and off Broadway, and Danish (!) shows from the late 1800’s to today.
I am working on turning all of this research and many, many hours of studying and loving this beautiful and awful music into something bigger, something which will be released in the spring.
