LASSE D. HANSEN

Composer and writer of concert works, film music, and musical stage productions performed by leading orchestras and ensembles at the world’s largest festivals for new music.

 

He is an often-used speaker, concert host, and moderator, has published articles, essays, and profiles, and has hosted about 350 hours of radio for the Danish Broadcasting Corporation (DR), including the podcast “Sessions”, which portrayed and exchanged music with over 65 folk musicians from home and abroad.

 

As a teacher, he has taught creative processes at conservatories and institutions throughout Denmark and is currently teaching classical students at the Danish National Academy of Music (SDMK), musical theatre students at the Danish National School of Performing Arts (DDSKS), and composition students at the Rhythmic Music Conservatory (RMC).

 

Educated in composition and music theory with specialization in pedagogy, conducting, and musical communication from the Danish National Academy of Music (Odense and Esbjerg), the Royal Academy of Music (Aarhus), and the Royal Danish Academy of Music (Copenhagen).

 

As a writer, he is trained in courses with music journalists from the New York Times, the New Yorker, and New York Public Radio, and by leading screenwriters from DR Drama.

 

Lasse D. Hansen lives in Copenhagen with his wife, Anna, and their daughters Ella and Vigga.
